Effective date: October 19, 2026

These terms apply to sailcarter.org, the website of the Carter Lake Sailing Club (“CLSC,” “the club,” “we”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. About the site

sailcarter.org is run by club volunteers to share club news, events and information, and to give members access to members-only pages and tools, such as the member directory, minutes, work-hours logging and their own work-hours history.

2. Member accounts

  • Member logins are for current club members and their households. Keep your password private and don’t share your login.
  • You’re responsible for what’s done under your login. Tell webmaster@sailcarter.org right away if you think someone else has used it.
  • The club may suspend or remove an account that’s misused or that belongs to someone who is no longer a member.

3. Members-only information

Information on members-only pages, including the member directory, contact details, slip assignments, minutes and work-hours records, is for club business only. Don’t copy it, share it outside the club, or use it for sales, solicitation or mailing lists.

4. Things you submit

  • When you log work hours or send a form, make sure the information is accurate. The club may correct entries (for example, removing duplicates).
  • Don’t submit anything unlawful, abusive, misleading, or that you don’t have the right to share.
  • Don’t try to break, overload or get around the site’s security, or access accounts or pages you aren’t authorized to use.

5. Club records and connected services

The site works with tools the club uses to run its business, including Google Workspace, Zoho Mail and the treasurer’s QuickBooks Online records. The website reads membership and dues status from QuickBooks only to show membership status and set access to members-only pages. It doesn’t change the club’s books, and it isn’t a place to pay dues or view financial accounts. How the club handles personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Accuracy and safety

The club tries to keep the site accurate, but schedules, race information, conditions and other details can change. Check with the responsible officer or committee before relying on them. Information on the site isn’t a substitute for your own judgment about sailing safety, weather and lake conditions. Club rules, bylaws and E-Board decisions take precedence over anything on the website.

The site links to and shows content from other services, such as Google Calendar, Facebook, government lake-information pages and race-results sites. We aren’t responsible for their content or practices.

8. Content ownership

Text, photos, newsletters and other material on the site belong to the club or to the people who created them. Members may use them for personal and club purposes. Please ask the club before using them anywhere else.

9. No warranty; limit of liability

The site is provided by volunteers “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the club and its volunteers aren’t liable for any loss or damage arising from using the site or relying on its content.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version will always be posted here with its effective date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
